I am the author of the Canadian Elections Database (CED) which contains all federal, provincial, and territorial general election results to the district level since 1867. The CED provides a lens through which to view many aspects of politics. I am the principal investigator on a SSHRC funded research grant (with Drs. Richard Johnston, Royce Koop and six others) exploring the intersection of political representation, parties, federal dynamics, parliamentary behaviour, and party system development both federally and provincially.

I also have a project exploring infrastructure as a measure of federal dynamics.

I and my co-authors are completing a book exploring Alberta politics since the departure of Ralph Klein in 2006 using data from four consecutive opinion surveys of provincial elections.

I am taking students interested in using the CED to explore representation, campaigns, party dynamics, electoral dynamics, and federalism.
